BIOGRAPHY

Sam Chew is always on the move. Growing up in the idyllic suburbs of California at a time when there was no internet, most of his days were spent outdoors: on bikes, on skateboards, on makeshift karts and sleds. Nowadays you’ll find him mashing through the concrete jungles of Manhattan on his fixie, pretty much the only way he gets around, ever on the lookout for places to climb, things to jump on and off of, and the perfect setup for his next gravity-defying Instagram post. Sam takes play seriously, and believes in recapturing the fun in fitness, both for himself and his clients. As a UCLA grad with a degree in psychology, he knows the importance of training with the right motivation. As a yoga instructor, he tempers the high intensity of workouts with the flexibility and balance needed to prevent injury. As a personal trainer at Equinox for more than ten years, he has coached people from all walks of life: celebrities to day traders to fashion gurus. And now, as co-creator of Fight To Be Fit, he brings the always-in-motion techniques of Muay Thai to professionals who desire to add value to their coaching and to individuals who are ready to up their personal fitness game. Sam is an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and holds RKC, SFG, RYT, and a host of other certifications. With this collection of skills,  he creates precise and individualized blueprints that build better bodies primed for the high performance life.  His training philosophy is: find motivation, get organized, build discipline, get gritty, stay humble.
